VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We need volunteers to help in several areas. Your commitment would be  5-8 hours a month. You can work from home and you may join a GCF committee if you want too, but don’t have to. Please complete the form at the bottom of this page to sign up. Thank you.

URGENTLY NEEDED

2 Social Media Managers –  1 for Website and 1 for Facebook to develop strategy to keep our website and Facebook page current and running smoothly. This includes posting and managing content, links and files; monitoring, analyzing and reporting on usage; and ensuring quick response to inquiries. For website, experience with WordPress would be helpful.

Editor and writer to develop stories with other writers that showcase the work of organizations funded by the foundation as well as to information on GCF grant process, workshops and other services. This content would be published on GCF’s website, Facebook page and in press releases with bylines.

OTHER VOLUNTEER NEEDS

GRANTS/PROGRAM – Chair, Joanie Cohen-Mitchell

Task group to update and make the GCF grant application more user friendly, particularly for small organizations.

Grant application reviewer to be part of group that does the initial review of grant applications and makes recommendations to the board for funding.

COMMUNICATION/OUTREACH – Chair, Carolyn Lambright Davis

Event planner to plan, organize and manage information booths at 4 Greenbelt community events and GCF’s annual meeting. We use SignUp Genius for recruiting and scheduling volunteers to staff events.

 FINANCE- Chair, Anthony Borges

Task group to research and determine if GCF should become its own non-profit organization and seek 501(c)(3) status.
